Creative

Creative learning is a dynamic and innovative approach to education that transcends traditional boundaries, encouraging students to explore, experiment, and think beyond the conventional. It involves fostering an environment where curiosity is nurtured, diverse perspectives are embraced, and imagination is ignited. Through creative learning, students engage in hands-on experiences, problem-solving, and collaborative projects that not only deepen their understanding of subjects but also cultivate essential skills such as critical thinking, adaptability, effective communication and making connections in learning. This approach empowers learners to become active participants in their own education, unlocking their unique potential and preparing them to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

As a part of the BCS GRIT model we ask our students to demonstrate four areas on their journey to becoming creative learners.

·       I can experiment and explore.

·       I can make connections in my learning.

·       I can be open minded and expressive.

·       I can investigate different ways to solve problems.

These ‘I’ statements allow students to encompass and demonstrate success through the implementation of experimentation and exploration of strategies, implementing connections from their knowledge to their learning, being open to suggestions and feedback all in order to solve problems.

We believe that implementing the qualities of a creative learner will assist every student to be pushed beyond their greatest expectations whilst thinking outside of the box.

Being creative is seeing what everyone else has seen, and thinking what no one else has thought.
