Events
School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Our school event may include:
- school orientation days
- sports carnivals
- open day and school tours
- NAIDOC Week and Book Week events
- excursions and incursions
- performances, concerts or school productions
- fundraising, charity and community events
- award assemblies
- Easter Hat Parade
- graduation and other celebrations.

Book Week
Book Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading. K- 12 students and staff take part in fun activities throughout the week, enjoy our annual Book Fair and come as their favourite characters for the Book Parade.
Orange Picking and Memorial Ceremony
Each year, students guard the town’s orange trees and their fruit – a living memorial to Bingara’s servicemen and women - until the commemorative service held on the last day of Term 2. Following the service, students join with the community to pick the oranges.
Thomson Cup
Our annual Athletics Carnival, the Thomson Cup, is held in June each year. Year 2 – 12 students march through the town to the Gwydir Oval in their Houses of Bradman, Laver and Fraser before competing in a range of track and field events.
